Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence is also referred to as incontinence or urinary incontinence in medical terminology.
Urinary incontinence is one of the problems that are more common in women than in men and have serious psychological, sexual and social effects. For this reason, urinary incontinence surgeries and medical treatments gain importance. Urinary incontinence surgeries can be applied simultaneously with vaginal aesthetics.

What is urinary incontinence?
Urinary incontinence problem in İzmir is also referred to as 'incontinence' or 'urinary incontinence' in medical terminology. It indicates the involuntary escape of urine. There are different types of urinary incontinence.

What is stress incontinence?
The problem of urinary incontinence may occur in many parts of the society, especially during coughing, laughing, and lifting heavy loads. In this way, due to the increase in intra-abdominal pressure, it is called 'stress urinary incontinence' (SUI). Urinary incontinence in women is usually of this type, namely stress incontinence.

What is Urge incontinence?
It is the situation where the person cannot reach the toilet after the urine comes. Urge incontinence also affects social life in a very negative way. Both types of incontinence both affect the person psychologically and cause him to feel bad about his partner sexually.

What is Mixt urinary incontinence?
Both stress incontinence and urge incontinence coexist. It is also known as mixed type incontinence.

In studies, stress incontinence was found in 48% of patients with urinary incontinence, urge incontinence in 17% and mixed incontinence in 34%. The other part is the rare types of incontinence.

What is coital incontinence?
Urinary incontinence problem during intercourse. It can cause sexual reluctance and orgasm problems in people.

Surgery for urinary incontinence
In women who have urinary incontinence problems, first of all, a gynecological examination and some tests are mandatory. Accordingly, a definitive diagnosis is made and treatment is started. It is observed that most of those who have urinary incontinence problem started after normal delivery. In some, depending on age or menopause, the collagen connective tissue weakens and urinary incontinence occurs.

How are urinary incontinence surgeries performed?
If there is sagging of the urinary bladder, sagging of the uterus or the rectum, which is the last part of the intestine, in the gynecological examination, the operation is inevitable. The reason for the sagging of the bladder is the weakening of the anterior wall of the vagina and its damage due to childbirth. Laser urinary incontinence treatment
Today, non-surgical, laser urinary incontinence treatments can also be performed in suitable patients. During this procedure, the collagen tissue in the bladder neck is also strengthened and the urinary problem can be resolved. However, what is important here is the condition that the person does not have bladder, bowel or uterine prolapse in the gynecological examination. If there is this type of pelvic organ prolapse, the treatment is surgery.

Treatment of urinary incontinence in women - Drug Treatments
Some drugs are also used in the treatment of urinary incontinence in women. Scientific studies on drugs that relax the urinary canal muscles, antidepressants and drugs that act at the molecular level are still continuing. The side effects of some of these drugs make their use difficult.

The effectiveness of drugs containing local estrogen, which is used especially during menopause and provides intravaginal collagen production, is also quite high. As can be seen, there are many surgical or non-surgical treatment options for the problem of urinary incontinence, which is closely related to many women today.
