Known as the cervical cancer vaccine, HPV vaccines provide protection against a significant portion of HPV-related diseases before these diseases occur. As with any vaccine, this is a preventive vaccine that must be administered before contracting the disease. As in many countries of the world, there are two types of HPV vaccines in Turkey. Both vaccines showed high efficacy in preventing cervical cancer and related formations related to HPV Type 16 and Type 18. Vaccines are administered in 3 doses within 6 months. Ideally, the vaccine should be administered before the first sexual intercourse. Since the age of first sexual intercourse may vary depending on socio-economic and cultural conditions, the best age range for vaccination has been determined to be around 14 years old. However, there is no harm in making the vaccine after sexual intercourse and it has protection. Recent studies show that the vaccine provides protection up to the age of 55. It is recommended to be vaccinated in women who have been diagnosed with a virus before, since the virus does not give enough immunity.
